Changes to self-isolation rules from Monday 16 August
From Monday 16 August, the rules for self-isolation will change. This will not apply to everyone, so make sure you know what you need to do if you’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.
And remember, if you test positive yourself you will need to continue to self-isolate – regardless of whether you’ve been vaccinated or not.
Fully vaccinated individuals and under 18s
- Anyone who has had both of their vaccinations over two weeks ago, alongside individuals aged under 18, will no longer be required to self-isolate if they are contacted by Test and Trace
- If you are a close contact, it is advised that you take a PCR test. If the PCR test is positive you will need to self-isolate for 10 days
Individuals who are not vaccinated, or have only had one dose
- If you are over 18 and haven’t had one or two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, you must continue to self-isolate if you’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive
Individuals who have had their second vaccination in the last two weeks
- If you have had your second vaccination, but it has not yet been two weeks since, you must self-isolate if you’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive
